Make your own Dichroic Glass Jewellery

Saturday morning classes in the Art Department at Croydon High School

Classes will be held on March 3rd, April 21st and May 26th

September 22nd, October 20th and November 17th

These classes are about learning the basic processes of fused glass jewellery making.  No experience is necessary and all the materials you will need are provided for you.

We will start with learning, and practising, how to cut glass.  I will then take you through a set project to illustrate the processes of layering different types of glass and what to bear in mind prior to firing in order to get the best results.  After that it's up to you to have fun and let your creativity flow.  To help you get started I will show you examples of my work and there will be books and catalogues available full of sumptuous jewellery to inspire you.

Before we end I will show you the findings that each of you will get to turn your work into wearable jewellery (including pendants, earrings, studs, rings) and how to attach them.  You will also receive a fact sheet telling you where to buy all the materials you have used and useful websites to look at.  Your work will be fired after the session and can either be collected from school or I will post it on to you.

Classes run for 3 hours, from 10am to 1pm, and cost £65 per person which includes tuition, all your glass and findings, firing costs, postage and as much tea, coffee and biscuits as you can consume.  Maximum of 6 people per class.
